This level is for those who have developed advanced technical control and have a competent grasp of stylistic techniques, mature stylistic conviction, execution of rhythmic complexity, creative and stylistic solo and improvisation work as well as a secure sense of communication and performance.

 

Advanced course brings every aspect to another level from technique, speed, stylistic playing, coordination, and musicianship.

 

At this level, students are trained to play with a wide range of physical & expressive techniques and the ability to use them across a range of styles and musical contexts.

• Drum set playing techniques: latin rim-shot, snare off, drop pull technique, stick on stick technique, moeller method, heel toe technique, splashed hi-hat, cymbal roll & accented snare roll

• Challenging grooves: Anacrusis, hits and rhythm slashes, snare drum anticipation, ensemble figures, drum break, amen break, 16th note push, one drop groove, partido alto rhythm, crossover drum fill, stop time figures
